However, make note that Tomcat 7 requires Java 1.6 or higher. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>If you download the <a href=\"http:\/\/tomcat.apache.org\/index.html\">Tomcat 7<\/a> Windows binary, the process for installation is pretty straight-forward &#8211; double click the setup icon and go through the motions. Unfortunately, there is one additional step you may need to take &#8211; make sure the &#8220;JAVA_HOME&#8221; environment variable is set to the JDK path and the &#8220;JRE_HOME&#8221; environment variable is set to the JRE path. Actually, you only need to set one to get Tomcat to work, but I like to set both because some apps depend on one or the other.  <\/p>\n<p>Also, if you didn&#8217;t install the application as a service, make it easy on yourself and create a batch file with the below commands.
