Multi-site with NSX Sessions at EMC World and VMworld 2016 [Video]

VMworld 2016: Multi-site Networking and Security with Cross-VC NSX

Throughout 2016, I’ve presented multiple sessions on Multi-site with NSX, Cross-VC NSX, and Disaster Recovery. If interested, you can view some of the public presentations I gave this year at EMC World and VMworld below. I’ve also listed the repeat session if the session was presented more than once and if both sessions were recorded.

EMC World 2016: Solving Multi-Site Challenges With VMware NSX

Abstract: VMware NSX enables networking and security services to be decoupled from the underlying physical infrastructure, and these capabilities also apply across Datacenter boundaries. This session covers the different deployment models for Multi Site NSX and use cases such as VM Mobility, Active-Active DCs, Disaster Recovery, Datacenter Migration and Hybrid Cloud connectivity. We also focus on the new Cross vCenter and Multi Site capabilities introduced in NSX 6.2.

VMworld US 2016: NET7854R Multisite Networking and Security with Cross vCenter NSX – Part 1

Abstract: Learn how Cross-vCenter NSX (Cross-VC NSX) enables logical networking and security across multiple vCenter domains/sites and how it provides enhanced solutions for specific use cases. No longer is logical networking and security constrained to a single vCenter domain.

We’ll step through an overview of the Cross-VC NSX feature and discuss architecture, components, and deployment models. We’ll also cover design topics and demonstrate how Cross-VC NSX can be used for multi-site solutions. A demo will be shown covering some of the discussion points.

VMworld US 2016: NET7861R Multisite Networking and Security with Cross vCenter NSX – Part 2

Abstract: Cross-VC NSX enables logical networking and security across multiple vCenter domains/sites and provides enhanced solutions for multi-site deployments. In Part 2 of this session, we’ll discuss Cross-VC NSX Security, failure/recovery scenarios, and how automation can be leveraged in Cross-VC NSX environments for specific use cases/scenarios.

We’ll walk through examples of Cross-VC NSX security. Further, we’ll step through the process of automating Failover/Recovery and take a look at how automation using different tools can be leveraged to handle the process. A demo will be shown covering some of the discussion points.
